For a long while now, I've been using tablets whenever I go out sketching. Recently switched back over to paper and pencil, like in the olden days of yore. I've been using these small sketchbooks ( 8"x 5"). They're pretty good if you want to go out somewhere, do some quick sketches, and keep a low profile.

Doom of the Savage Kings

I was supposed to run a game of Dungeon Crawl Classics this past weekend, unfortunately, it didn't happen. I sketched out the rooms of the dungeon because I was trying to cover for some possible shortcomings I may have as DM due to my inexperience running games ( also, it's quite fun!). My thinking was that should I miss a detail, or fail in words to communicate the area, the players could rely on the sketches to give them a better idea of what was around them and make more informed decisions of what to do. 

Also, in the interest of saving time, I created some pregenerated characters ( in most games, players generate these themselves). I couldn't stop myself from designing them as well ( again- it's quite fun). The game did not happen, but I did not want all the files to be sitting on my hardrive for all time, unseen.

* For those in the know, and keeping score- Laurelia's armor and short sword are mithril.

My in- game character from Skyrim. A nord warror I named after Kirk Douglas' character from The Vikings.( Shout-outs to Senor Bike Kinzle who was nice enough to loan me the dvd!) I thought it appropriate to post sketches of what's been keeping me from posting sketches. 

I was going to put off posting these, so I could revise some things, but I decided to post what I had. This blog is getting me to work things out more than I normally would if they were just for me, but I think there's gotta be a cut- off also. I didn't think it would be good to dwell on these for too long.

For you Non- Skyrim types, Sovngarde is the Elder Scrolls equivalent to Valhalla. Nord warriors strive to prove themselves worthy of the afterlife through combat and great deeds.
